Allison Kocar is a New York City–based visual artist with parallel practices in photography and digital post-production for film and commercial projects.
Her photography is grounded in strong color sensibility, thoughtful composition, and an intuitive approach to storytelling. Focusing on people, atmosphere, and detail she documents people and moments in a way that feels genuine and memorable.
In parallel, Allison maintains an established career as a freelance digital artist specializing in live-action compositing, motion graphics, and color grading. She holds a BFA in Computer Arts from the School of Visual Arts, where she graduated with honors, and began her career as a staff compositor at Rhinofx. She has also taught compositing and motion graphics at SVA and was recently selected for an intensive Color Grading Fellowship at the Feirstein School of Cinema.
Her combined experience across photography and post-production results in a dependable, end-to-end workflow. Extensive expertise in photo editing, retouching, and color grading ensures a polished final product—particularly valuable in fast-paced event and production environments that demand both speed and accuracy.
Outside of client work, Allison explores costume and mask design, drawing, painting, photography, and movement arts, continuously expanding her visual language.
